OpenClaw

Add the Imagifly MCP server to the OpenClaw gateway.

OpenClaw

OpenClaw is an open-source personal AI agent gateway you run on your own machine. It is reachable from chat apps, can use tools, execute tasks and extend itself with MCP servers — so Imagifly becomes a tool your assistant can call from chat.

Add the server

Keep the key in IMAGIFLY_API_KEY in the environment that runs the gateway.
Register the server through the CLI or edit ~/.openclaw/openclaw.json.
Probe the connection, then restart the gateway.
export IMAGIFLY_API_KEY="imf_your_key_here"

openclaw mcp set imagifly '{
  "url": "https://imagifly.net/api/mcp",
  "transport": "streamable-http",
  "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer ${IMAGIFLY_API_KEY}" }
}'

Or add it to the mcp.servers section of ~/.openclaw/openclaw.json:

{
  "mcp": {
    "servers": {
      "imagifly": {
        "url": "https://imagifly.net/api/mcp",
        "transport": "streamable-http",
        "headers": {
          "Authorization": "Bearer ${IMAGIFLY_API_KEY}"
        }
      }
    }
  }
}

`transport` matters

OpenClaw defaults to sse when transport is omitted. Imagifly speaks Streamable HTTP, so set "transport": "streamable-http" explicitly.

The same server can also be added in the gateway UI under Settings → MCP.

Verify and reload

openclaw mcp doctor imagifly --probe
openclaw mcp reload

Then restart the gateway so the tool list is rebuilt:

openclaw gateway restart

openclaw mcp doctor reports the handshake, the negotiated protocol version and the tool count; a healthy server lists six tools.

Try it

Send the assistant a message such as:

Draw a wide shot of a lighthouse in a storm, then send me the image.

It calls generate_image, waits for the task and returns the URL in chat.
